Color:
Bright ruby red with clear lightening towards the rim and mahogany reflections.
Nose:
Beautifully matured nose dominated by dried fig, prune, plum, cedar and hazelnuts. Delicate ethereal hints and clear notes of hay, dried thyme, rosemary and incense characterize its extremely interesting fragrance.
Palate:
On the tongue, the 2017 Roero Rosso is dry and at the same time with mellow fruit and fruit sweetness. Its acidity refreshes, stimulates and gives it a youthful touch despite all its maturity. Wonderful food companion, best slightly chilled with down-to-earth, original cuisine.
Food recommendations by Christina Hilker:
- Bread salad with tomatoes, onions and pine nuts
(Vegetable & Vegetarian)
- Marinated swordfish with olives, basil and finely chopped anchovies
(Fish)
- Rabbit braised in Nebbiolo on rosemary polenta
(Wild)
