Grown on one of the highest vineyards of the region, harvested by hand. 1117 bottles 0,75l, 60 bottles 1,5l , 12 bottles 3,0l,6 bottles 6 litres.
Color
Bright and radiant golden yellow.
Nose
A monument of minerality presents itself to us with the 2020 Riesling Basalt, stony smoky aromas appear after the immediate opening and challenge the carafe. Aromas of fennel, camomile and vervain are very present and give it expression and tension, fruity notes of kumquat and grapefruit still remain in the background in its youthful stage, but will intensify with further maturity. An extremely exciting start!
Palate
Salty, punchy, it moves across the tongue and virtually unloads with its power and pronounced minerality. A wine that you can literally bite into and that lingers on the tongue forever. It should be given some more time to mature, then it will present itself in its full beauty. Andreas Schumann has once again managed to conjure up the free spirit and dynamism of Odinstal in the bottle, bravo!
If you are impatient and want to open it now, you should decant it for several hours and use large glasses.
