Info about the wine

Pinot Blanc 51 %, Chardonnay 31 %, Sauvignon Blanc 18 % .

Two thirds of the grapes come from Lieben Aich in Terlan and one third from Campan in Kaltern. Terlan Lieben Aich has a warm, west-facing slope at 300 m above sea level, with water-permeable, sandy soil on porphyry weathered rock. Kaltern Campan is a cool, east-facing slope at 500 m above sea level. The soil is a strong loamy limestone soil with rock deposits from ice-age glaciers.

Info about the expansion

The destemmed grape berries remained in the press for six hours for maceration to extract aroma and structure from the grape skins. Fermentation took place in wooden barrels, spontaneously with the grape's own yeasts. During the nine months of ageing on the fine lees, the aroma and flavour were refined.

Color

Bright, sparkling golden yellow with delicate green reflections.

Nose

On the nose, the 2021 Réserve della Contessa shows juicy fruit and intense aromas. Fruity notes of ripe apricot, mango, honeydew melon and gooseberries flow from the glass. The intense fruit is accompanied by refreshing herbal aromas reminiscent of lemon balm, sage, blackcurrant leaves and elderflower. The scent of almonds and toasted white bread gives it complexity and a Burgundian feel.

Palate

On the palate, it is juicy and full of finesse. Its fine acidity interacts beautifully with the sweetish fruit, its fine tannin and the distinctly herbal note invite you to combine it with an intense cuisine. It is already wonderful to drink at the moment, but has enough storage potential to develop excellently over the next few years.

At this stage, it does well to decant it and serve it in a larger glass.
