Info about the wine
Pettineo Historically a name for a small area in the countryside, it lies behind the ridge of the Serra San Bartolo and has always produced very elegant wines in the past, thanks to a deep layer of sea sand and little limestone on the surface. The vines are almost 60 years old. Originally the vines were planted in head or albarello style, which the previous owner then changed to trellis style, with the vines now climbing to monumental heights between the trellises. 2700 bottles are produced from the Pettineo.
Color
Bright garnet red with purple reflections.
Nose
The 2020 Occhipinti "PT" Pettineo shows bright red fruits that are sweet and seductive. The aromas of strawberries, raspberries, sour cherries and red currants are elegant, invigorating and Burgundian. Delicate ethereal aromas of citrus and sage complete its animating fragrance.
Palate
The palate is feminine, invigorating and extremely stimulating. The tannin is wonderfully fine and polished, fruit and acidity seem playful. A truly finesse-rich wine that is best enjoyed slightly chilled!
Drink slightly chilled from Burgundy glasses.
