Info about the wine:

Like the vines in the site "Les Quarts", "Les Longeays" is situated in the south-east in the middle of the slope, but the soil is deeper. Clay and limestone from the middle Jurassic, deeply coloured red by a lot of iron oxide. The view is east - southeast. Approx 20% slope. This character gives the grapes early ripeness year after year. Great ageing potential!

Facts:

Hand harvest, whole cluster pressing. The wines are fermented spontaneously, aged 11 months in Piece and another six months in tank to clarify naturally and be bottled without filtration.

Color:

Muted, medium golden yellow.

Nose:

On the nose, the 2017 Pouilly-Fuissé Climat "Les Longeays" appears juicy and ripe. Fully ripe apple, sweet pear, quince, quince compote, honey and a hint of white chocolate. Citrusy hints of ginger, fragrant flowers and zests of lime and orange give it play.

Palate:

Smooth and full-bodied it glides over the palate, with a lot of juiciness and fullness. It gives the impression of having bitten into fully ripe fruit and the sweet juice running down the corners of your mouth. But then there's the supremely bracing acidity and subtle phenolics that give it tension and appeal. Please the next glass, and then another one; at most, one gets full from the culinary that accompanies this fine drop.

Recommendation:

Enjoy decanted, not too cold from a large glass.

Food recommendations by Christina Hilker:

  • Burrata on a salad of radicchio with caramelized walnuts and orange wedges (vegetarian)
(cheese, fresh cheese, salads, leafy vegetables, nuts (nuts), tropical fruits)
  • Grilled red mullet with fennel cream and ginger
    (fish, spicy vegetables)
  • Crispy fried duck breast with miso, sugar snap peas and glass noodles
    (poultry, duck, legumes, glass noodle)
