Location information
The 1.1 ha vineyard was planted in different periods in 1921, 1990 and 1993 at an altitude of 310 m in an easterly orientation.
Terroir
This famous vineyard, characterised by clay and limestone, is located just above Pommard Epenots, between Les Pézerolles and the Beaune 1er Cru "Clos des Mouches".
Information on the expansion
Hand harvest with a yield of 25-30 hl/ha, aging in barriques between 18 and 22 months, of which 10-15 % new wood, 1600 bottles total production.
Color
Pomegranate red with distinct lightening towards the rim.
Nose
The 2017 Pommard Premier Cru "Clos Orgelot" already enchants in its youth on the nose with subtle sour cherry fruit, raspberry, fig, vineyard peach and a hint of orange peel. Violets, juniper and clove join in after prolonged exposure to oxygen. Hints of maggi herb, wood smoke and iron convey pure umami.
Palate
With a silky structure and fine fruit sweetness, supported by a fine astringency of the still youthful tannin, this fine drop pours onto our tongue and runs down the throat powerfully and full-bodied. Despite its current accessibility, it should still be allowed to mature - the stuff will get even better and finer with the necessary time. At this point, decant and enjoy from a larger Burgundy glass.
