Info about the wine
As with the Du Bouchot Terres Blanches, the vines of the MCMLV also stand on "Terres Blanches". That is, on white clay, marl and Kimmeridge limestone with high proportions of oyster fossils. The Sauvignon, which has been certified organic since 2009 and biodynamically cultivated since 2015, is grown in the plots Les Coûtes and Les Sapins on a total of 0.46 hectares. The age of the vines is more than 60 years. It is the oldest vineyard of the domaine.
Color
Bright golden yellow.
Nose
What a beautiful abundance of fruit the 2020 Pouilly Fumé MCMLV offers on the nose Gooseberries, figs, lemon, lemon zest and grapefruit mingle with flint and cool sea breeze. Hints of iodine and soy sauce underline the umami character of this wine, which already whets the appetite for intense cuisine on the nose.
Palate
A wine that virtually glides over the tongue with a lot of juiciness, melting and density and at the same time with a stimulating meaty spiciness and invigorating acidity. A white wine of great substance that beguiles with coolness and finesse at the same time. It virtually calls for the accompaniment of culinary delights. Wonderful depth and intensity, a very special drop!
