Color
The wine is dark purple with ruby rim and opaque core clear and shiny in the glass.
Nose
Dark, almost mysterious. As dark as its appearance, so also its soul. Fully ripe aromas of plum jam, cranberries and black cherries as well as a breath of rum pot, meet just as with dark chocolate, as with game and gingerbread spices like clove, allspice and juniper berry. This is harmoniously joined by just the right amount of animality. Just a bit of stable, just a bit of leather and just a bit of beech wood smoke give the wine a deep, yet warm-hearted soul.
Palate
The power of the 2017 Nit de Nin Mas d'en Cacador is spicy, yet not overloaded or melancholic. On the palate, the wine of the Familia Nin-Ortiz shines with the gripping originality of the Priorat. Juicy and full of caring warmth without being submissive, it packs all that spice into a mouthful of wine, leaving room for vitality. This is refreshingly supported by moderate yet perfectly balanced acidity. A framework of ripe yet pithy tannin holds everything together and provides the necessary pressure.
