Wine Description for Spätburgunder -N- 2022 by Michael Andres

Colour & Appearance
Muted garnet red with ruby reflections at the rim – a classic Pinot Noir dress that already promises elegance and finesse to the eye.
Nose
Intoxicating and complex: An opulent dark fruitiness of cherry, blueberry and blackcurrant merges with wild raspberries. Beneath this, earthy notes of undergrowth, tree bark and cocoa unfold, complemented by a hint of leather. Floral accents of violet, ivy and rose petals lend the bouquet a seductive, almost Burgundian elegance.
Palate
Here the true nature of the 2022 vintage reveals itself: a crystalline freshness reminiscent of juicy sour cherries and freshly picked berries. The graphite notes and the fine-meshed, silky integrated tannin provide structure without harshness. Cool elegance dominates – a Pinot Noir that combines restraint with intensity. Lively, unadulterated and already accessible now, with clear ageing potential.
Finish
Long-lasting and fresh, with lingering red fruits and a fine mineral tension that invites you to take the next sip.
Terroir & Origin
The grapes come 75% from Reiterpfad and 25% from a parcel in Ruppertsberger Nussbien – both vineyard sites known for structured, elegant Spätburgunder.
Grape Variety & Vinification
Spontaneous fermentation with wild yeasts, 14 days of open skin contact fermentation, spontaneous malolactic fermentation and 15 months ageing in tonneau. Bottled unfiltered – the „N“ philosophy stands for Natural, No filtration, No limits, Next Level. Maximum freedom in the cellar, minimal intervention.
Food Pairing Recommendations
Perfect with game dishes, duck confit, braised beef or Coq au Vin. Also a revelation with aged Comté or peppery goat’s cheese. The freshness makes it a pleasure to enjoy on its own as well.
Special Features
A natural wine with character – unfiltered, untamed and authentic. Michael Andres‘ „N“ series proves that natural winemaking and the highest quality are not contradictory.
