Wine information
The Malvasia from the island of Lipardi comes from terraced vineyards with sandy volcanic soils and high mineral content. After the harvest, the grapes are dried under the sun for 15 days, then slowly pressed and fermented in used wood. The residual sugar is 150 grams.
Color
deep golden yellow with amber reflections
Nose
The Passito resembles an essence of ripe apricots with a smaller portion of pure plums, nectarines, figs and candied lemon peel. This is pure fruit with at most a hint of candied ginger, a single sage leaf and some mace blossom. A wonderfully expansive and animating sweet wine.
Mouth
There is a lot of concentration at play here. The juice of this Malvasia seems as if it should drip from the spoon like honey. And honey is found here, of course, next to the juicy apricots. The apricots here show a triad of fresh stone fruit, cooked stone fruit and dried apricots. Thereby the Passito always on the fresh side thanks to its acidity.
