Wine information
The Los Magines is a blend of Tempranillo and small amounts of Mazuela, Viura, Grenache Blanc and Malvasia. The fruit comes from Moreda in Rioja Alavesa. The Valdemarra vineyard is located at 480 metres. It has a stony clay soil with lime. The vines are in goblet training as bush vines in the vineyard. After manual harvesting and sorting, the grapes were destemmed and fermented spontaneously at a maximum temperature of 25 °C. The wine was aged in French barriques. Nose
On the nose, this Tempranillo, which also contains some small proportions of white varieties in the traditional manner, is a fresh, floral and penetrating wine. Violet flowers, rose petals, some jasmine and dark fruits show up here, ripe but crisp, accompanied by fresh herbs, warm bread and cooked almonds.
Palate
On the palate the Go Magines Elegant, fine and sensual with a noticeable, but definitely defining fine tannin, a clear balanced acidity and a juicy as well as fleshy fruit that combines red and blue berries with notes of undergrowth, some cinnamon bark, sloe and subtle oak. This is a fresh, clear, almost tonic wine. Rioja with a lot of tension and very good length.
