Wine information
This is the second vintage of a wine that comes from a vineyard of just 0.6 hectares, the fruit of which, until 2016, was still in the Mas d'en Caçador was processed. La Rodeda is listed in the appellation maps as a vineyard of its own, which Carles Ortiz and Ester Nin were not aware of before. They always added it to the Mas d'en Caçador. The special thing is that this vineyard is almost 100 % with about 80 years old Garnacha Peluda, in French. Lladon pelutA red Grenache variety of its own. In addition, this vineyard has a northern exposure and, at around 650 meters, is also one of the highest in the entire Priorat. Besides black Llicorella slate, red quartzite can be found here. The grapes were fermented whole and aged to 100 % in new French barriques. At exactly 13.87 %, this is the lowest alcohol red wine in the entire range. Harvested on 09/13/2018, the grapes were foot stomped after destemming in open fermentation tanks and then fermented naturally. Matured was the La Rodeda for 19 months in a barrel from which 310 bottles were filled.

Nose
Besides the La Coma d'en Romeu and the Mas d'en Caçador establishes itself La Rodeda as the third great wine of the house. And in the second vintage, the wine is even a little finer and the fragrance inspires fresh and clear. The Vi de Partage Velles Vinyeswho used to work in the Mas d'en Caçador has flowed in, shows itself independently with a fantastic balance of power and sensuality. The wine opens with notes of beach lilac, violets and broom before the fear becomes present. Cherries, blackberries and raspberries are found here. All ripe but also crisp looking and refined with licorice, a hint of cinnamon and vanilla, but also tobacco, earth and underbrush. The Garnacha Peluda seems impressively fine and deep.
Mouth
On the palate, the irrepressible freshness and clarity inspires with simultaneous depth, maturity and substance. The La Rodeda is imbued with vitality and a vibration and pace all of its own. The dark, juicy and firm fruit is accompanied by a very fine saltiness, especially here again with a fine spice and a quite concise and for Garnacha Peluda typical tannin. The La Rodeda Vi de Partage is a pulsating
,
elegant, fine and sensual wine with the perfect balance of energy supply and deceleration.
