Wine information

The Out of the Dark - Blaufränkisch is a wine from grapes grown on limestone and slate. Spontaneous fermentation took place with one week of skin contact. The wine was then aged in cellar amphorae and bottled unfiltered, unfined and without the addition of sulphites.

The wine forms a pair with the Into the Light - White Blaufränkisch 2021, and with the name he refers to the eighth and penultimate album by Falco called Out of the Dark . The label was designed by Olaf Osten.

Nose

Out of the Dark is what Gernot and Heike Heinrich call this Blaufränkisch, which has very little of the deep, dark colour that so often characterises the wines of this grape variety. The wine has risen from this gloom and is striving upwards, as it were. This is a Blaufränkisch whose colour already shows that it belongs to the category of "Blaufränkisch". Vin de soif or Zechwein belongs. On the nose, this is confirmed by the seductive combination of crunchy red and dark berries, some sour cherry, stalks, dried herbs, crushed rock and a little yeast.

Palate

On the palate, this is a silky, juicy, lively and quaffable wine that combines extract sweetness with an earthy tannin structure and lively acidity. The Out of the Dark runs down the throat like the water of a mountain spring from the foothills of the Alps on a summer day. This is a red wine that is fun to drink at any time and slightly chilled, even in summer, whose emphasis is on uncomplicated drinking pleasure, but which at the same time is a wine to be taken seriously thanks to its harmonious balance of fruit, acidity and tannin. Everything done right!
