Information about the wine
Situated in the picturesque location of Vießlinger Riede Schön, only a stone's throw away from Riede Bruck, exciting differences exist between the two wine-growing areas. Riede Schön is dominated by extremely deep brown soils, an environment that is perfect for the development of the cultivation of Grüner Veltliner. Highlighted by the special soil composition of orthogneiss and mica slate, the Riesling grown here spreads its very own charm. This Grüner Veltliner was produced by means of spontaneous fermentation in 850-litre barrels and matured with gentle batonnage on the full lees.
Color
Bright golden yellow
Nose
Reuter's charm begins with the first aroma array: richer, fuller nuances of yellow and green plums, pears and apples contrast and merge at the same time with the tangy lemon and orange scent. The characteristic hints of blond tobacco and subtle vegetation round off the olfactory experience. A fascinating balancing act between fruit and spice has been achieved here.
Palate
On the palate, Grüner Veltliner shows its true generosity and complexity. An abundance of juiciness and creaminess rises, accompanied by elegance and finesse. An interplay of ripe yet energetic acids, a hint of exoticism in the form of mango nuances in the yellow fruit, tobacco and rock spice and increasingly prominent minerality characterise this palate delight. In the finish, a zesty note of grapefruit and lemon adds even more depth to this full-bodied, yet dynamic and energetic Ried Schön.
Food recommendations
