Geology information
Shaped by the complex history of the formation of the Upper Rhine Graben, the Tuniberg is a geological treasure. Formed from Jurassic limestone, it resembles the rock that can only be found again on the Swiss borders and in the Swiss Jura. Once covered by glacial loess, the vines now penetrate the steeper southern part to the lower-lying Jurassic limestone. The rest of the valley is dominated by the typical fertile loess-loam soils.

Expansion information
Careful manual work characterises the ageing of this wine. After manual harvesting and destemming, the grapes are quickly pressed, which oxidises the must and the phenols. After a natural clarification overnight by gravity, the spontaneous fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks. The wine remains on the full lees until bottling - entirely without the addition of sulphur. A coarse filtration and bottling with the addition of 30-40 g total sulphur complete the process. Apart from a small amount of SO2, no other additives or fining agents are added.

Color
A bright golden yellow that shines in its luminosity.

Scent
The nose is enveloped by characteristic Pinot Gris aromas: quince, apple, orange and walnut play a symphonic melody, supported by subtle notes of ivy and foliage. A spicy and smoky note blends in, presenting a wine of amazing elegance and finesse, far from any heaviness.

Taste
The palate is beguiled by the juicy richness, the rich melting and the refreshing freshness of this Pinot Gris from the hand of Klaus Vorgrimmler. It is a wine full of esprit and joie de vivre, an ode to the diversity that a Pinot Gris from Baden has to offer - simply sublime.

Alternative food recommendations
