Wine information
Lou Bragalou is the Occitan name for L'Aphyllanthe de Montpellier, a garrigue plant typical of the Languedoc. The white wine is a 100 %iger Grenache Blanc from a vineyard with vines that are around 30 years old. The vineyard is characterised by limestone gravel and large river pebbles with a high quartz content. After manual harvesting, 80 % of the grapes were pressed directly and 20 % were fermented spontaneously as whole bunches. The wine was matured largely in tanks and bottled unfined.

Nose
The 2022er Lou Bragalou needs a little time - typical for this grape variety - to find its way into the glass and open up. A carafe helps, of course. Afterwards, there are notes of wax, broom, a little smoke, lemon and grapefruit peel, some fennel seeds and a firm pear.
Palate
On the palate, the wine is elegant and silky, while at the same time having a southern flavour of crisp white and yellow-fleshed fruit, spices and herbs, stone and citric notes. The fine garrigue, aniseed, liquorice and fennel notes in particular are reminiscent of Mediterranean cuisine. The ripe but present acidity and the pleasantly subtle alcohol for this grape variety round off the successful overall picture.
