Tasting note from from 12.03.2016, Copyright Christina Hilker

Color:

Medium golden yellow, slightly cloudy.

Nose:

The 2014 Clos de la Bergerie is still very closed and smells intensely of yeast, undergrowth and mushrooms. After sufficient aeration, aromas of pear, quince and wild herbs emerge, but also hints of leather and anise. The exciting aroma is rounded off by smoky notes.

Palate:

Fresh and yeasty, the 2014 Clos de la Bergerie shows on the tongue with a lot of melting and substance. The finish is spicy and stimulating. Its development potential is far from exhausted and it will still develop excellently over the next few years.

Recommendation:

If you want to enjoy it at this stage you should decant it and serve it not too cold in a big glass.

Food recommendations by Christina Hilker:
