Nose

In 2015, the "Le Mont Moelleux" is a mysterious, as it were dark wine. This is also true for the Moelleux, which plays a bit with exotic aromas of pineapple and mango, but is mainly dominated by smoky-spicy notes, in which there is a flash of flint, a scent of smoked hay and of damp masonry, in which someone is preparing something Indian with ginger, saffron, quince and mustard flour.

Palate

In the mouth, the 2015 Le Mont Moelleux is already impressively complex. It changes from minute to minute, yet always stays with itself. It's silex and tufa-derived Le Mont through and through, delivering apricots and mangoes, vinegars, kumquats and a note of yellow English wine gum, but it gets its greatness mostly from the extract, from the materiality on the palate and the vibrant mineral acidity that easily puts away the amount of sweetness. The bitter notes of the citrus add to the refreshing aspect that Le Mont offers. The balance, depth and length are inspiring - not to mention the potential of this Moelleux, which is surely forty if not more years.
