Information on the drop
The picturesque slopes of Château Revelette, located northeast of Aix-en-Provence and at the foot of the Montagne Sainte-Victoire, comprise 30 hectares of vines. They extend over 17 sites around the village of Jouques. From here comes the exquisite 2020 Rouge, made up of 50% Syrah and a blend of 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Cinsault, Counoise and Carignan. The geographical diversity of the grape plots is preserved by harvesting the grapes separately and then fermenting them at temperatures of 25 to 27 degrees Celsius over a period of 25 days.
Its hue varies between rich garnet and crimson tones that flash out intensely.
Enjoy the Provencal charm of the 2020 Chateau Revelette Rouge. The bouquet is a harmonious interplay of berry aromas, reminiscent of blackberries, blueberries, plums and sloes. These combine with notes of juniper berries and aromatic herbs de Provence, and beneath the surface lurks a subtle hint of olive tapenade. Unlock further layers of complexity with a proper aeration that brings out alderwood, leather and minerality, followed by a delicate hint of smoke.
The wine tingles on the palate with a needle-sharp juice, the characteristic cassis note and a gentle hint of paprika from the Cabernet Sauvignon is presented more clearly here than on the nose. Vibrant acidity paves the way for the recurring fruity and spicy notes from the nose. The profile is rounded off by ripe, robust tannins that lend a coherent taste experience. Every sip of this wine will leave you craving for the next.
