Wine information
30 hectares of vineyards, spread over 17 plots near Jouques, located about 30 kilometres north of Aix-en-Provence in the protection of the Montagne Sainte-Victoire, belong to Château Revelette. In the case of the PUR Grenache, the Grenache is harvested by hand and gently extracted in 500-litre barrels in a 28-day maceration at 25 to 27 °C. The wine is then aged for eight months at a temperature of between 25 °C and 27 °C. The wine is aged for eight months in used demi-muids.
Color
deep garnet red
Nose
The PUR Grenache smells fresh and juicy of lots of ripe sour cherries and black cherries, blueberries, blackberries, cinnamon and herbs. One notices its southern ripeness, but also Peter Fischer's sense of liveliness and freshness.
Palate
On the palate, the wine is just as fresh with an acidity that has a lot of traction. The dark fruit seems crisp and firm to the bite, the acidity lean and punchy, the tannin ripe but with a pleasant grip. This is not a complicated, but an easy-drinking, decidedly grippy Grenache that wants to be drunk now.
