Wine information
The Chinon is a Cabernet Franc from an assemblage of different plots from the slopes and plateaus located near the castle. What they have in common is the soil of calcareous sand and silt, while the parent rock of tuff remains present in the depths. The Cabernet is aged for ten months in concrete cuves of 60 hectolitres.
Color
Cherry Red
Nose
An Vin de soif with an emphatically dark-fruity and slightly spicy nose. The crème de cassis literally jumps out of the glass! It is accompanied by ripe cherries, a few blackberries, raspberries and barberries, garnished with herbs.
Palate
On the palate, the wine lives from its animating acidity and the unadulterated dark ripe and juicy fruit. Here is drinking pleasure for comparatively little money, drinking pleasure above all with character; because the Château de Coulaine provides fine grip and a pleasant crunch. Cheers!
