Wine information
The Montserre parcel owes its name to the "serres", a geological formation in the form of dense, superimposed limestone slabs. On the surface, the soil is strewn with white pebbles. It is located at a high altitude, at the top of the appellation, and is exposed to the winds on four sides. It is surrounded by a hedge of trees where birds nest and form a fertile ecosystem.
Color
Bright, intense sparkling golden yellow.
Nose
The 2019 Chablis "Montserre" shows itself open and with beguiling aromatics that smell of apple sauce, oranges, orange jam, ginger and notes of liquorice. The brilliant fruit is accompanied by smoky hints and the cool scent of ocean waves crashing against the rocks.
Palate
On the tongue, it explodes with fresh fruit, here citrus notes and fresh orange show more and an invigorating acidity that moves across the tongue with a salty trace. A wonderfully lively Chablis, which is already very open due to the lack of additional sulphur and is at its absolute best in combination with dishes with fruity components.
Decant at this stage if possible and do not serve too cold.
