Wine information
The grapes come from Baños de Ebro from a plateau in Rioja Alavesa, the home of Arturo and Kike de Miguel Blanco. 95 % Tempranillo and 5 % Viura from rather younger vines were used. For the Artuke a carbonic maceration was chosen and the wine was aged for half a year in a concrete cuve.

Nose
The 2021s Artuke appears youthfully fresh, juicy and full of energy. It smells of violets and lavender, red currants and pomegranate juice, red and black cherries and some blackberry. Yeast can be detected here as well as a little plum with cinnamon.
Palate
On the palate, the freshness and juiciness are even clearer, as the acidity provides a pleasant pressure and the tannin remains fine-grained and largely in the background. Almost like a Spanish Beaujolais, the wine provides drinking pleasure and flow, is uncomplicated and invitingly friendly with its full fruit and fine salt, but without any wood at all. It's fun from the start, and it doesn't stop there.
