Wine information
This vineyard is the closest to the old basalt quarry. It has only a small soil layer above the rocky subsoil, which slopes slightly to the north. High ripeness and low yields give substance, the proportionate ageing in used oak barrels promotes structure and a proportion of grapes in fermentation keeps the wine compact. The harvest was done by hand. 1117 bottles 0,75l, 60 1,5l bottles, 12 3 litre bottles, 6 9 litre bottles.
Color
Medium golden yellow.
Nose
The fine nose is determined by yeasty freshness, fine minerality and discreet fruit, it opens only after decanting into the carafe and aeration for several hours. Its fruit is fine and discreet, reminiscent of quince, pear, lemon zest, vervain and very discreetly reveals the extremely skilful use of wood in the form of roasted hazelnuts and fine light leather. An extremely harmonious start full of elegance and grandeur.
Palate
If you take the 2020 Pinot Blanc Basalt on your tongue, you will enjoy its fine fruity character, the saline and mineral structure and the nutty finish, which is accompanied by a fresh citrus note. Top food companion and a wine that will intensify its Burgundian character with further maturity.
Be sure to aerate and enjoy from large glasses.
