Wine information
Muskat grape varieties such as Muskat Ottonel are commonly used on Lake Neusiedl to produce sweet wines. But Heinz Velich wanted something aromatic and completely dry. So he let the Muskat mature for a long time and then fermented it completely. Then he aged it in stainless steel.

Nose
The fact that Muskat grape varieties are once again being vinified in Austria to produce dry wines that are great to drink is a great joy. Heinz Velichs Muscat Ottonel Delights with notes of white blossoms and stalks, apples and apple peel, grapefruits including zests as well as nutmeg and lots of rose.
Palate
On the palate, the Muscat Ottonel as an animating drinking wine with aromatic penetrating power. It is very juicy, dry and downright electrifying. The aroma picks up the scent, but the notes of nutmeg and rose are even more intense on the palate. Acidity, saltiness and a deep spiciness ensure that the Muscat Ottonel quickly evaporates and you want to pour the next glass immediately, preferably with aromatically dense, slightly spicy cuisine.
