Nose

Surprisingly fresh for a Priorat from the hot 2022 vintage. Dark berries and red fruits dominate, underpinned by Mediterranean herbs such as thyme. The aromatics are precise and well-balanced, without the heaviness one might expect from the region.

Palate

Juicy and accessible with fine-grained tannins that give the wine structure without dominating. The fruitiness continues, accompanied by mineral notes and a refreshing acidity. The 12-month barrel ageing is perfectly integrated – noticeable, but never intrusive. This is Priorat with elegance rather than opulence.

Finish

Medium-length with a pleasant herbal bitterness that ensures freshness and drinkability. The wine invites you to take the next sip – exactly as the name promises.

Terroir & Origin

The grapes come from organically farmed vineyards in Gratallops, one of the core locations of DOQ Priorat. The rugged Catalan mountain region lies approximately 90 minutes‘ drive from Barcelona – hence the name. The famous Llicorella slate soils give the wine its characteristic minerality.

Grape Variety & Vinification

A thoughtfully crafted cuvée with Grenache as the protagonist, complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon and a touch of Carignan for structure and balance. The wine is aged for 12 months in French barriques, which lends it complexity without masking the fruit.

Food Pairing Recommendations

Ideal with grilled lamb, beef steak, paella with chorizo or aged Manchego. Also an excellent choice with Mediterranean vegetable dishes featuring aubergines and peppers.
