Wine Description for Ambre Blanc Muscat Macere 2021 by Trapet Alsace

Colour & Appearance
Pale, clear golden yellow with brilliant luminosity – a colour that already announces the elegance of this skin-fermented Muscat.
Nose
From the first moment, captivating and penetrating: linden blossom, peonies and roses meet citron, pomelo and fresh muscat. A hint of aroma hops lends additional complexity. Despite the aromatic intensity, the wine remains remarkably bright, lively, almost dancing – a fragrant interplay between floral opulence and lemony freshness.
Palate
Here the mastery of maceration time reveals itself: velvet and silk in wine form. The approximately two-week skin maceration brings present yet perfectly integrated tannins, which lend the wine structure and depth without weighing it down. The mineral depth of Grand Cru Schoenenbourg carries through, whilst the floral and citrus notes dance across the palate with impressive freshness and fine texture.
Finish
Long, elegant and carried by fine minerality. The floral notes linger without ever seeming perfumed – a balancing act that rarely succeeds so well with Muscat.
Terroir & Origin
The grapes come from Grand Cru Schoenenbourg, one of Alsace’s most prestigious vineyard sites. The mineral precision and depth of the wine are a direct reflection of this extraordinary terroir.
Grape Variety & Vinification
Muscat, harvested on 5th October 2021, approximately two weeks of skin maceration – a technique that gives the wine its distinctive texture and depth without masking its varietal elegance. At 12.5% alcohol, it remains approachable and light-footed.
Food Pairing Suggestions
Marinated raw salmon with lime and coriander, grilled sea bass with fennel herb and lemon zest or green asparagus with kimizu and ajo blanco – the wine loves the combination of freshness, herbs and delicate seafood aromas.
Special Features
An orange wine that proves skin maceration need not mean power at all costs. Here elegance takes centre stage – a Muscat of rare finesse and drinkability.
