The Grande Reserve is a selection of the best sweet wines of the Zieregg from raisined berries without botrytis with crystalline character and best balance. Matured in large wooden barrels.
Color
Amber-coloured with a lime-green tapered rim.
Nose
The nose of the 2013 Sauvignon blanc Grand Reserve Trockenbeerenauslese from the Tement winery is selflessly lavish. Lush bouquet of dried Armenian apricots, cucumbers and white peach jam. Lazily and polished, the brilliant fruit is spicily underpinned by light tobacco, milk chocolate, dark cocoa nibs as well as some honey and linseed oil.
Mouth
On the palate, the TBA is surprisingly liquid and flows silkily over the palate with medium viscosity. The distinctive fruity aromas of the nose are joined by distinct mineral notes that, like the salt in caramel, provide the maddening tension in this nectar. A wine for now, later and long beyond.
Food recommendations from Sebastian Bordthäuser
- Greek yoghurt with caramelised walnuts and honey
- Grilled tuna belly with melted Roscoff onions
- Spicy lacquered pork belly with garlic, rosemary and habanero chiles
