Dark, bright purple with violet reflections and a light rim
Nose
The fruit of the Dolcetto d'Alba is wonderfully fragrant. Violets and lilac exude strongly from the glass. Blueberry and elderberry dominate the fruit. Sour cherry, blackcurrant and blackberry build up pressure directly from the second row. It smells like a bite into a handful of these berries should feel. A little cinnamon and coffee add spice. But nothing can stop its fruity intensity paired with floral elegance.
Palate
On the palate, it is enlivened by acidity and tannins. In addition to the aromas of the fruit mentioned above, its silky elegance should be emphasised. The floral aromas give it an elegant guise here too. The intensity of the fruit is repeatedly interrupted by peaks of acidity. Each new build-up provides tension and life. A fine tannin coats the mouth and provides complexity.
