Wine Description for Plénitude de Solemme 1er Cru Extra Brut Millésimé 2019 by Solemme

Colour & Appearance
Medium straw yellow with vibrant, dense perlage that bears witness to the hallmark of a natural-minded Champagne.
Nose
Fragrant and precise: green apples and apple skins dominate, accompanied by fine notes of hazelnut and pastry. Above these float white flowers, lemon zest and a distinctive mineral note reminiscent of chalk stone.
Palate
Fresh and forceful with vibrant, dense perlage. The minimal dosage of just 1.5 grams allows the purity of the terroir to shine through. Apple aromas are flanked by red berries and grapefruit. The Champagne tastes pleasantly dry without being austere – a charming balancing act between freshness and substance.
Finish
Clean and persistent with mineral precision and delicate fruit.
Terroir & Origin
The grapes come from two characteristic vineyard sites of the Petite Montagne de Reims: the chalk terroir of Villers-aux-Nœuds and the clay-limestone slopes of Chamery. This combination gives the Champagne its mineral depth and vibrant structure.
Grape Variety & Vinification
An unusual assemblage composed in equal parts of 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Meunier. Vinified without chaptalization, filtration or tartrate stabilisation – a purist approach that preserves the authenticity of the 2019 vintage.
Food Pairing Recommendations
Excellent with classic omelette with ham, Comté and spring onions, salmon rillettes or roasted fougasse with salt cod dip. The freshness and minerality make it the ideal aperitif Champagne.
Special Features
A successful introduction to the portfolio of Champagne Solemme, combining the typicity of the Petite Montagne de Reims with natural vinification. The deliberately minimal dosage underscores the commitment to authentic, terroir-driven Champagne.
