Colour & Appearance

Muted cherry red with delicate lightening towards the rim – a classic picture for Loire Pinot with its characteristic transparency and elegance.

Nose

Expressive and captivating in its freshness. Sour cherries and wild raspberries dominate, flanked by blackberries, blackcurrant and blueberries. Fine herbal notes of thyme and chervil join these, whilst a striking floral accent of violets and rose petals lends the wine its typical Loire signature. This aromatic delicacy reminds us why Sancerre Pinot ranks amongst the most delicate expressions of this variety.

Palate

Lively and refreshing – precisely as one wishes Loire Pinot to be. The mineral character is unmistakable, carried by a vibrant, almost shimmering acidity. The herbal spice continues through, the fruit remains juicy and precise, never becoming heavy or jammy. At 14% alcohol, the 2020 shows more substance than earlier vintages, yet never loses its characteristic lightness of touch.

Finish

Medium length, defined by fine herbal notes and cooling minerality. The acidity remains present through to the end and invites another sip.
