Wine information
Probably the best Climat in Saint-Romain, with 13.56 hectares on a south-western exposure and chalky white soils. After selective harvesting, the whole grapes were slowly pressed, followed by fermentation with the vineyard's own yeasts in wooden cuves and ageing for a year in Pièces and Tonneaux with a maximum new wood content of 15 %. The wine was bottled unfined, unfiltered and with minimal sulphur.
Color
Brilliant medium straw yellow
Nose
The Chardonnay from the Combe Bazin vineyard appears fine and elegant. It smells of limes, lemons and calamansi with a little abrasion and seeds. In addition, there are aromas of crisp white peaches and yellow apples. Notes of rock are not missing here, as well as those of hazelnuts and a tiny bit of wood. It is not an expressive fragrance, but a finesse-rich one.
Palate
On the palate the Saint-Romain Ripe and silky, but the acidity is well noticeable and pleasantly lively. Here, too, one finds the green and yellow citrus notes, plus some pineapple, herbs and rocks. Towards the finale, it becomes increasingly spicy and salty, the drinking flow higher and higher, and the silkiness and citrus freshness combine to create a successful overall work.
