Color
A brilliant straw yellow with white-gold reflections shines clear and brilliant from the glass.
Nose
Still quite shy on its first nose, this Riesling from Traben-Trarbach opens up with a little time in the glass and allows floral notes in particular to shine. On the stage of Granny Smith apple, crisp Nashi pear and lime, the aromas of brook, lime and acacia flowers romp. Refined and refreshed this, sweetness suggesting, fragrance by the herbaceous coolness of cucumber peel, dill and mint.
Palate
Juicy, juicy, juicy!
On the palate, the green becomes yellow apple, yet retains impeccable freshness and cools with its lean body. Full-bodied honey pomelo retronasally explains to us the close link between the words fruit melt and extract sweetness, while a cheeky acidity smirkingly cuts a silhouette of our taste buds.
Prancing gracefully on the balance beam of the perceived meaning of "dry", the 2017 Trabener Gaispfad Riesling is a gem of tension-filled lightness.
