Information about the wine
This special drop has its origins in two south-facing plots, planted respectively in 1978 and 1983. The hard and unforgiving soil of the vineyard, which holds little water, ensures that the harvest is modest - but this leads to an intense concentration of flavours. The quantity of wine is limited and has been bottled in different sizes, which include 1851 units of 0.75 litres, 60 units of 1.5 litres, 12 units of 3 litres and 6 impressive bottles of 6 litres.
The light reflects in a brilliant golden hue that appears almost like liquid sunlight in the glass.
The 2020 Riesling Buntsandstein presents itself distinguished and refined, although it still holds back its secrets. Therefore, it should be put into the decanter with a few turns to open it completely. As soon as it breathes, your nose is showered with delicate aromas of peaches, apples, young mango and lemon verbena, while subtle notes of fresh meadow herbs lovingly frame the fruit character. A hint of malty and yeasty nuances completes the sensory experience.
On the palate, the wine is particularly harmonious and bundled. Delicate citrus and apple notes sparkle and bring an invigorating freshness. Salty notes come in and intensify its umami character - perfect for pairing with Asian-inspired dishes. The wine has enormous potential for further development and will reveal nuances of a Burgundian character and gain nobility over time.
Be sure to decant and serve in a wide glass.
