Info about the wine
Against the advice to tear down the rows of vines and replant them, the winery decided to vinify this part of the "Quart", with vines over 80 years old. Since 2000, small, rich and very concentrated grapes grow here on clay limestone, very rich in iron oxide in east, southeast exposure in the highest and stoniest part of the parcel "Les Quarts". After manual harvesting, whole cluster pressing took place to 100%, vinified in pieces of 228 l for 11 months and then in vats for 6 months for natural clarification. Bottled without fining and filtration.
Color
Sparkling golden yellow with clear silvery reflections.
Nose
The 2018 Pouilly-Vinzelles Climat "Les Quarts" Cuvée Millerandée is compact with brilliant aromatics on the nose. Ripe vineyard peach, lemon zest, orange, apricot and pineapple trunk mingle with vanilla, toasted almonds and butterscotch, grilled bread and light tobacco. Wonderful exotic Burgundy in full bloom. One looks forward to tasting it with anticipation.
Palate
Juicy and full-bodied, it glides over the tongue, the fruit of the nose unloads with precise spice and stringent minerality. The acidity is very well embedded and flashes animating and inspiring again and again. Its fine tannin flirts with the tongue and stimulates immensely. A drop with wonderful development potential, which is worth watching over the next few years. It already shows great and will increase immensely in the next few years.
Enjoy decanted, not too cold from a large glass.
