Wine information
The 2020 Paso Las Mañas comes from the 3.9-hectare Paraje El Chorro vineyard in Samaniego. Arturo and Kike planted the vineyard about ten years ago at an altitude of 720 metres. It is already too cool for Graciano there, which is why this is a 100-%iger Tempranillo vineyard that is completely isolated and characterised by almost pure limestone. De-stemmed grapes were used, which were fermented spontaneously. The wine then matured for a year in 3,500-litre barrels and was bottled unfiltered. Among Artuke's site wines, it is considered a premier cru guided.

Nose
The 2020s Paso Las Mañas is by far the most closed and coolest wine in the portfolio. No wonder, since the vineyard is so high, the soil so poor and the vintage so cool. At the same time, the Rioja fascinating in the melange of barberries, pomegranate and sour cherry, crushed lime and herbs of the maquis, damp earth and undergrowth.
Palate
On the palate the Paso Las Mañas pure life, but in a very unique way. There is a lot of cherry, some blueberry and cassis, then again many herbs and even more crushed rock, a vibrating acid structure and an enormously fine tannin that is very typical for the winery. From the start, the wine seems salty and tonic, cool on the one hand, yet charming on the other with a fine sweet fear core. It is young, still a bit shy, but blessed with dazzling potential and lots of energy!
