Nose
The 2021 Barbera d'Alba Superiore »Pairolero« is intoxicatingly beautiful. It is quickly present and presents itself openly and invitingly with notes of sour cherry, a little bitter almond, freshly polished leather and a little undergrowth and rock. Warm and cool, even slightly minty notes show here at the same time.
Mouth
On the palate, the wine appears to be Barbera immensely slender - and that in a positive sense. The »Pairolero« pulsates with energy and the combination of fruit and acidity, reminiscent of sour cherries and blood oranges. The whole wine seems juicy, pushing, agile and is coated in fine-grained tannin. Everything is in its place and makes for easy drinking.
