Color
In bright lemon yellow, the wine appears clear and shiny in the glass.
Nose
Aromatic and fruity, this Albarino, aged for twelve months on the fine lees in barriques, combines ripe and frivolous exoticism with smoky spice and earthiness. The mangos and papayas, kiwis, pineapples and sharon fruits it carries all come from the charcoal grill. Once arranged, they are aromatically refined with grassy olive oil, orange zest, mint and basil. They are also seasoned with white pepper, pickled ginger, nutmeg, a little cinnamon and a barely noticeable hint of vanilla.
Palate
The 2016 Nana from Attis is not a light-footed, "sauvignon-esque" representative of the Albarino grape, but rather the "Tiglat" of the Rias Baixas. Broad-shouldered, its ripe opulent fruit appears on the palate and is juicily refreshed and supplied with agility by moderate, yet stimulating acidity. Retronasal the fruit goes to the humidor in the Churchill salon and is enriched, going deep, by notes of cedar wood, tobacco leaf and salted almonds.
