Info

The Mirgin Rose is based on the Monastrell grape variety and stands at about 150 - 300 metres above sea level, facing the Mediterranean to the south-east. The soil type is called Saulo and is based on sand and granite. The site resembles a narrow amphitheatre.

After harvesting, a short maceration period follows to extract the colour to the desired degree. Then gentle pressing and fermentation in steel tanks. The second fermentation takes place traditionally in the bottle and is rounded off with a minimum of 30 months of yeast storage.

The date of degorgement is precisely indicated on each bottle.

As Brut Nature, the wine is indicated with 0g dosage.

Color

Fine salmon pink with orange and light inclusions, restrained mousseux, aggressive perlage.

Nose

The nose begins pleasantly restrained and quiet. Rosehip as well as some red fruit tea brewed only briefly make the start. Cranberry and red currant set off shy red scent marks. The Mirgin Rosé Gran Reserva appears chalky and puristic. Strikingly pleasantly non-fruity for a rosé. Rosemary and pine needles give it slightly ethereal nuances.

Palate

On the palate, then controversial to the nose. Soft and warming. Full of fruit tones, but never cheesy. Rather on the tart berry side and not quite mature. Surrounded by a chalky, linear structure on the palate, it seems very elegant and straightforward. The fruit finds its master in the very balanced acidity. It remains straight. Full of elegance and with a lot of drinking flow. Full of esprit and life. Dried cranberries and red pepper develop in the finish.
