Nose
The nose of the 2020 Terre de Pierre is stony and floral. It has abundant notes of wet stones and a little flint. White flowers add binding, delicate elements. Acacia, apple and almond blossom. Chopped almonds and a hint of almond plait come to mind immediately afterwards. Peach, lychee as well as pineapple and mirabelle come to the fore with restraint, but the delicate fruit suits this restrained wine wonderfully. Meadow flowers and some hay as well as shortbread round it off.
Palate
On the palate, as expected, it seems cool and clear. Like a mountain stream, it flows purely and purposefully. Stony, mineral and precise. It has salty flavours and lives from a fine acid structure. 2020 Terre de Pierre absolutely follows a red thread. The fruit is only very subtle. It benefits from the feel, the mouthfeel and its crystal-clear expression. A wine with plenty of room for its food companions.
