Info about the wine
The grapes come from good old vineyard sites around the town of Langenlois with its communities such as Zöbing, Gobelsburg, Schiltern and Mollands. Young and old vines, almost exclusively grown on loess , 20 % come from gneiss weathered soils.
Vinification info
Spontaneous fermentation with short maceration over two to four weeks, 95 % steel tank and 5 % large wood - used oak barrels.
Color
Brilliant golden yellow with delicate green reflections.
Nose
The nose of the 2021 Grüner Veltliner is reminiscent of juicy yellow fruits such as apricots, mirabelles and apples, with citrus and ginger also in the mix. The fruity scent is accompanied by wild herbs, yarrow and fine pepper notes, which give it exciting facets.
Palate
What a lively freshness on the palate - stimulating acidity meets pure yellow fruit and a fine fruit sweetness. The delicate spiciness whets the appetite and even Fred Loimer's top entry-level quality reveals a salty, mineral complexity. A wonderful wine that is enjoyable on its own, but also a great accompaniment to food!
