Wine Description for Les Manyes 2017 by Terroir al Limit

Colour & Appearance
Rich, luminous cherry red with bright, almost ruby-like reflections – a wine that already hints at its Mediterranean origins in the glass.
Nose
An aromatic kaleidoscope of captivating complexity: dark plums and sour cherries meet rosemary, basil and rose petals. Added to this are mandarin zest, blackcurrants and a whisper of sloe. Surprisingly tomatoey notes, leather and blooming almond trees lend this Grenache a masculine, yet never coarse depth. Pure Mediterranean fascination from 800 metres altitude.
Palate
The first sip surprises with meaty, almost bloody intensity. A fine-grained tannin structure elegantly frames the wine without ever dominating. The 14.5% alcohol is seamlessly integrated. Sour cherry, mandarin and floral notes unfold in perfect balance – neither delicate nor powerful, but of rare perfection. The acidity structure draws the wine into impressive length. Here Grenache reveals itself with the precision and linearity of a great Burgundy.
Finish
Long, bright-fruited and of crystalline clarity. The aftertaste simply makes you want more – a wine that doesn’t show off, but convinces through profundity.
Terroir & Origin
„Vi d’altura“ – wine from the heights. The 1.5-hectare parcel sits at the northern end of Priorat at the foot of the Montsant mountain at approximately 800 metres altitude. The 70-75 year-old vines are rooted in a plateau of Argile (clay and marl) – a seemingly unspectacular terroir that produces the extraordinary.
Grape Variety & Vinification
Pure Garnacha Peluda, a rare mutation with slight fuzz on the berries. Since 2016 aged entirely in cement tanks – no wood, only pure terroir. Dominik Huber himself describes this as the finest wine Terroir al Limit has ever produced.
Food Pairing Suggestions
Entrecôte with rosemary potatoes and Mediterranean roasted vegetables, Coq au Vin with red wine onions or hearty braised dishes with root vegetables.
Special Features
A monument to modern Priorat – a wine that redefines Grenache and combines Mediterranean power with Burgundian elegance. Close to perfection.
