Info about the wine
Above the estate's tuffeau caves on the first Vouvray plateau on a southern exposure, Le Mont is one of the most appreciated vineyards in the appellation, known for its history and long-lived wines.
Info about the situation
Nine hectares of pebbly flint soil and deep green clay provide a unique expression of the Chenin Blanc variety. Its terroir brings out intensity and minerality as well as a refined structure supported by a beautiful acidity.
Color
Medium golden yellow.
Nose
The 2018 Vouvray Le Mont Moulleux is lively, powerful and fresh with quince, pear, apple and honeydew melon. Ripe, but not sweet, instead invigorating and fragrant. A feminine and beguiling drop with depth, still youthfully closed, so off into the carafe with it.
Palate
Creamy fruit and sweetness in the attack, fine saltiness and invigorating acidity, citric, herbal and dancing. With oxygen, impressions of candied ginger, cinnamon and subtle clove join in. One is inclined to drink it, even drink it out - but the journey ahead is long. It brings very good potential.
Be sure to decant and enjoy not too cold from large glasses.
