Artist's edition designed by Reinhard Stangl in a limited edition. The edition includes a lithograph signed by the artist, the distillate Spiritueux Orange by Jean-Paul Metté with a specially designed artist's label and a wooden box with branding. Jean-Paul Metté's Eau-de-Vie Orange invites Reinhard Stangl to linger and dream. The artist was inspired to paint this picture under orange and lemon trees at his holiday home in Tuscany. Reinhard Stangl wants to overcome boundaries, both external and internal. For him, overcoming borders means regaining freedom. Probably his greatest border crossing was leaving the former GDR in 1980. He wanted to know what this freedom felt like and how it affected his artistic work. But letting go of inner fetters, such as clinging to and orienting oneself towards great role models, also means dissolving boundaries and thus gaining freedom for one's own authentic artistic expression, indeed for life itself. Recently, Reinhard Stangl was again confronted in a very real way with the issue of opening borders. Under the motto 'Breakthrough! Twenty years after reunification critical perspectives of Berlin artists? the Breakthrough Art Organisation organised an exhibition of a special kind. Together with nine other artists from Berlin, Reinhard Stangl exhibited various works in five major cities in the USA, expressing his views and thoughts on the fall of the Wall. Not only in the USA, but in many different countries in Europe and all over the world his works were and can be seen. Important prizes, such as the VEAG Art Prize or the Dragoco AG Art Prize, testify to the success of this extraordinary artist.
