Wine information
The coveted cuvée, consisting of Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch and Merlot, was named in honour of the sun-drenched lowlands on the eastern side of Lake Neusiedl. With its remarkably permeable soils and perfect microclimate, this area offers optimal conditions for high-quality vines. These organic grapes were carefully hand-picked from the traditionally cultivated vineyards.
Expansion information
A spontaneous fermentation took place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks before the wine was aged for 15 months in 500-litre wooden barrels.
Color
It shines in a deep violet-red, with gentle lightening towards the rim.
Smell
The 2019 Heideboden presents itself on the nose with intense and pleasant spice. The aroma collection of blackberries, elderberries and sloe form a wonderful combination with dark plum jam. In addition, there are striking olfactory impressions of green pepper, pepper, wood smoke and leather, which emphasises its spicy character. Under sufficient supply of oxygen, floral notes of ivy and violets develop.
Taste
On the palate, it unfolds a refreshing acidity and delights with an almost light and at the same time earthy minerality in the background. Added to this is a stimulating herbal spiciness. A wine that, in addition to its uncomplicated nature, is distinguished by expression and character and forms a harmonious combination with a variety of dishes.
Recommended dishes
Suitable accompanying dishes could be, for example, a tart with bacon and onions, a beetroot soup with balsamic lentils or even a chicken casserole with tomatoes and tarragon.
