Description of the wine:
Colour shade
The soft gold, tinted with a light veil, plays with green reflections in the glass bowl.
Fragrances
The opening aromas of the 2017 Grüner Veltliner Riede Steiner Schreck Third Act, pressed using a historic tree press, are slaty, smoky and yeasty in nature. On aeration, notes of vineyard peaches, pears and apricots reveal themselves. They are joined by traces of rose petals, chamomile flowers and a subtle touch of white nougat. A hint of ginger and pronounced herbal notes round off this harmonious and impressive fragrance composition; an exquisite blend, fine and complex, woven in a charming way.
Taste profile
The acidity tactfully attacks the palate, artfully combined with fruit and body, and drags across the tongue. The flow of saliva is stimulated and the mind awakened. Everything seems light as a feather and incredibly filigree, even the moderate alcohol content of only 12 vol%. This Grüner Veltliner is great and delicate, it sets completely new standards. The feeling is like shouting 'encore' after each act, passionately and from the bottom of your heart.
Food combinations
Instead of cucumber stuffed with avocado, tomato and roasted pistachios, peelings of green apples stuffed with celery and nuts are also suitable. Instead of lukewarm salmon with lime and chilli marinade, consider fried scampi with lemon zest and garlic. To complement the char ceviche on orange and fennel, you could also consider a fish tartare on citrus-melon-fennel salad.
