Color
Dark purple with an opaque core, the wine appears clear and bright in the glass.
Nose
Density and variety pour from the glass of this dark cuvée of 90% Grenache Noir and 10% Syrah. Blackberries and blueberries hide in the thicket of the forest. The color black shows how multifaceted it can be in the form of black olives, black currants and black pickled nuts, as well as black pepper and black licorice. Powerful yet defined, the wine presents its fragrance.
Palate
On the palate, the sophisticated playfulness of the 2016 Gigondas from Domaine D'Ouréa is evident. Despite all its dark aromatics, Adrien Roustan's cuvée reveals supple elegance. A powerful attack carried by berry fruit is closely followed by velvety, slightly drying tannins. A restrained, yet essential acid arc souffles the actor safely through the piece.
