Out of stock

On the one hand, grapefruit and blood orange radiate juicy freshness and are supported by watermelon, but on the other hand, the latter is grilled and allse is seasoned with red pepper, smoked olive oil and nasturtium. With fine-grained tannin, moderate acidity and delicate smoky spice, it's clearly in it for the long haul and should be kept in a safe place until further notice.

Color

In slightly translucent purple with garnet red rim, the wine appears clear and shiny in the glass.

Nose

With a little air and patience in the swirled large glass, this 1er Cru from Trapet Père & Fils reveals its kaleidoscope of aromas. Its fruit is precise and crisp and is always accompanied by spices. On the one hand, grapefruit and blood orange radiate juicy freshness and are supported by watermelon. On the other hand, the latter is grilled and allse is seasoned with red pepper, smoked olive oil and nasturtium. Roasted truffle rice, clove and a hint of cinnamon stick hint at ethereal warmth and show strength without imposing.

Palate

On the palate, the 2016 Gevrey-Chambertin Alea 1er Cru from Trapet Père & Fils inevitably makes clear that it does not want to be disturbed at the moment. In fact, it's just catching its breath. So, into the carafe and let it get used to the new environment...

With a fist on the table! Typical for Gevrey-Chambertin, the wine is more powerful, richer and somewhat darker than many of its peers. With fine-grained tannin, moderate acidity and delicate smoky spice, it is clearly out for the long haul and should be kept in a safe place until further notice.

A splendid guy who still grows to his full size. One may be in anticipation.
