Wine information
The Flores de Callejo is the freshest expression of a Tinto Fino. It comes from the La Emilia, La Huelga, Astrales, Jaime and Sandelaisa vineyards in Sotillo de la Ribera. The vineyards lie between 830 and 850 metres above sea level and the vines are rooted in marly limestone and mainly clayey soils. After cool pre-fermentation, the grapes were destemmed, fermented spontaneously and matured for five months in a cement cuve with as little extraction as possible.
Color
fresh violet
Nose
The Flores de Callejo is indeed a floral-scented wine reminiscent of violets. This is followed by black cherries and cranberries, some beetroot and black tea and a hint of balsamic vinegar.
Palate
On the palate, the Tinto Fino a.k.a. Tempranillo is pure and unadulterated with a juicy, crisp dark fruit with a few dabs of cinnamon and a cool acidity. The tannins are also fresh in this juicy and tart red wine, which is fleshy and lively.
