Wine information
The grape harvest was done by hand with transport in crates to process whole and intact grapes. The grapes were crushed and then pressed in an old basket press once they arrived at the fermentation cellar. The must was kept in tanks for two to three days to allow the lees to settle. After alcoholic and malolactic fermentation, the wine was aged in used barrels, not fined, not filtered and only lightly sulphured.
Color
Medium straw yellow with light lees
Nose
The nose of the 2019 Bourgogne Blanc Landré is intense and inviting. Ripe grapes are shown here, bringing freshness and tension at the same time. The Chardonnay is reminiscent of yellow apples and especially pears, at the same time of a pineapple that is just ripening but still smells a little green. There is also a hint of butter, also of stone, a few nuts, ripe lemons and flowers.
Palate
On the palate the Landré quickly builds up tension, delivers ripe, juicy fruit here as well, but at the same time a ripe, elegant and yet energetic acidity and minerality, some chalk and limestone and a very good length. All in all, this is an easy-drinking, uncomplicated Chardonnay, which has both ambition and depth, but above all balance and length.
